Astrid Dodd
The Artist
Astrid Dodd, a Dutch interior designer graduated from the prestigious KLC Design School in London, is celebrated for her mastery of textured art that harmonizes elegance with an organic sensibility. Currently based near the serene shores of the Netherlands in Zandvoort beach, her work reflects a profound connection to nature, tranquility, and global influences gathered over years of travel and exploration.
Astrid’s art is a seamless extension of her passion for holistic living, sustainability, and timeless aesthetics. Her signature creations, distinguished by organic, round shapes and a soothing natural palette, resonate with calm and balance. Designed to blend effortlessly into various spaces, including bathrooms, her pieces exude a meditative quality that complements her dedication to wellness-focused, sustainable design
Astrid’s artistic journey began in Cape Town, where she lived for five years. While working in interior design, she began taking art classes and, in the process, developed her signature plaster technique—a tactile, textured approach that has become the hallmark of her work. Upon returning to London in 2020 during lockdown, she delved deeply into her craft, creating her now-renowned plaster works. Soon after, her art gained international acclaim, enabling her to transition to full-time artistry while staying rooted in her interior design background.
Her work remains inspired by a love for the intricate patterns found on Dutch beaches—a muse that shapes her pieces with a delicate sense of rhythm and flow, capturing nature’s elegance in textured form.
